SAVE Annual Meeting 2019

The next SAVE meeting will take place on 25/08 – 28/08/2019 in Vaalbeek (Leuven) - Belgium

We have the pleasure to invite you to the next Annual Meeting of the SAVE Foundation and the European SAVE Network in Vaalbeek in Belgium, exactly ten years after we had the annual meeting in Ghent.
Vaalbeek, a small village in between Leuven (6 km) and Brussels (30 km) and near to the Airport (25km). The venue is “La Foresta” a former Franciscan Monastery that, at the end of last century, was transformed into an educational center with a strong European and religious interests. It is a huge place, well equipped for organizing meetings such as ours. The annual meeting will take place from Sunday August 25 till Wednesday August 28 and start with a visit to the annual Living Heritage Expo in Wachtebeke (Ghent) organized for the 23th year by Steunpunt Levend Erfgoed, the Belgian SAVE partner.
On Monday 26 of August we will have a seminar on ‘Traditional breeds for future food production'.
During the following days the CCP and the BoD will meet.
As La Foresta is quite near to the University faculty of Agriculture and Bio engineering of Louvain we plan to visit the gene bank for "Brussels endives" and the banana gene bank which is the largest in the world. See
Further in the neighborhood we will visit a cattle breeder of the Belgian bleu white dual purpose type, a breeder of Ardens sheep and of Kempens cattle engaged in nature grazing and together with Nationale Boomgaardenstichting, we will visit old fruit orchards.
We very much look forward to see you there! More details see:

Many thanks for your continued engagement and we hope to see you soon,
With best wishes,
The SAVE Team
and SLE Belgium
